Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh was hearing the case against 11 accused, including former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain, and deferred the pronouncement of his judgment
Though Asaram’s life imprisonment sentence was upheld, the court acquitted him of charges related to gang rape and gang penetrative sexual assault of the minor girl child under the IPC and POCSO Act
The judge also ordered a compensation of ₹4 lakh to the survivor
The girl had gone missing in a scrub forest area around 250 metres from her residence on the evening of March 10; she was found murdered the next day
