Officials said that the new card is being designed on the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) platform, a nationwide standard that allows commuters to access various public transport systems through a single smart card.
The Vegadootha services, which already run on 11 routes linking suburban towns, benefit nearly 60,000 passengers daily.
