Bloomberg News Meteorologist Craig Allen tells Bloomberg This Weekend that the slow-moving nor’easter is weakening but will continue bringing rain and flooding risks to parts of the Northeast after strong winds and coastal flooding battered the region. Speaking with hosts David Gura and Christina Ruffini, Allen says New York through Boston has borne the brunt of the storm, with additional rain possible even as the strongest winds subside. An early-season nor’easter will bring damaging winds, coastal flooding, high surf and heavy rain to parts of the East Coast through North Carolina to New England through the weekend, according to the Weather Channel. Coastal New England, especially around Boston, is expected to see the worst impacts, with gusts up to 60 mph, possible flash flooding and power outages. O Centro Estadual de Monitoramento e Alertas de Desastres Naturais do Rio de Janeiro (Cemaden-RJ), vinculado à Defesa Civil Estadual, emitiu às 6h desta terça-feira (22), novo alerta para a população fluminense, sobre a chegada de uma frente fria, que deve provocar ventos de intensidade moderada a muito forte, ao longo do dia. A frente fria também deve trazer chuva moderada a forte. Na madrugada desta terça-feira, rajadas de vento foram observadas em vários pontos do Rio de Janeiro. De acordo com a Defesa Civil Estadual, Paraty, no litoral sul fluminense, registrou ventos de até 76 km/h. A Defesa Civil orienta a população que evite permanecer próximo a árvores, postes, placas, andaimes e outras estruturas que possam ser afetadas pela força dos ventos. O Corpo de Bombeiros deve ser acionado pelo telefone 193, em caso de emergência.
