As investigações ocorreram no âmbito das operações Marola, Delivery e Contaminatus.  A quarta ação decorre da Operação Hinterland e busca recuperar patrimônio relacionado ao tráfico internacional de cocaína para a Europa e à lavagem de capitais. As investigações identificaram movimentações financeiras vultosas além da comercialização de aeronaves, veículos de luxo, empresas e pedras preciosas. “A estratégia da AGU busca ultrapassar a responsabilização individual dos autores dos crimes, alcançando também financiadores, beneficiários econômicos, empresas de fachada, familiares e terceiros utilizados para ocultar patrimônio ilícito. Para isso, a AGU atua no rastreamento de ativos, na identificação dos verdadeiros beneficiários dos bens”, destacou o governo, em nota. As ações foram propostas pela Procuradoria-Geral da União (PGU/AGU) em varas da Justiça Federal nos estados do Paraná, São Paulo e Rio Grande do Sul. Os recursos e os bens recuperados ou confiscados das organizações criminosas serão investidos principalmente no fortalecimento do aparato de segurança pública por meio do Fundo Nacional de Segurança Pública ou dos fundos de segurança pública estaduais.

A PM se limitou a dizer que os policiais militares “tentaram abordar um veículo na Avenida Brasil, na pista sentido zona oeste, na altura de Bonsucesso, na zona norte da cidade do Rio de Janeiro”. Em nota, a PM lamentou a morte do político, que já foi vereador de Queimados, e informou que “as circunstâncias do fato serão esclarecidas através das investigações que estão em andamento. O local foi preservado e a área, isolada para a realização da perícia”. O Comando da PM também instaurou um procedimento apuratório, para investigar a conduta dos policiais envolvidos na ocorrência. O caso está sendo investigado pela Delegacia de Homicídios da Capital. De acordo com a Polícia Civil, a perícia foi feita no local e os policiais militares foram ouvidos. As imagens das câmeras corporais serão analisadas e outras diligências estão em andamento para apurar todos os fatos. A prefeitura de Queimados divulgou uma nota lamentando profundamente a morte do secretário.
