O pesquisador Paulo Rená, do Instituto de Referência em Internet e Sociedade, avalia que a ação tem uma ilegalidade pois envolve a promessa de uma vantagem econômica atrelada a uma campanha eleitoral.  “As questões que ficam é saber quem está organizando e se a campanha tem conhecimento da iniciativa. O fato de ela não ter nenhuma vinculação com o Brasil e não estar direcionada a uma causa nacional pode levar a crer também que seja uma estratégia para burlar a legislação eleitoral brasileira e também a fiscalização desse tipo de iniciativa”, diz.  O site de criptomoedas informa que “a distribuição de tokens é independente de voto, preferência eleitoral ou divulgação de propaganda eleitoral”. Diz ainda que este projeto “não é oficial, não é endossado nem tem vínculo com nenhum político, partido, candidatura ou campanha eleitoral, e não é forma de doação eleitoral”. A campanha de Flávio Bolsonaro disse que desconhece a autoria do site da criptomoeda e informou que vai tomar todas as medidas judiciais contra a publicação nas esferas eleitoral, cível e criminal para a derrubada da página. O candidato também negou a contratação de perfis para divulgação de conteúdo ou produtos de campanha.  Nesta quinta-feira, a Coligação Brasil Pronto pra Mais, que apoia a reeleição do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), apresentou à Procuradoria-Geral Eleitoral uma denúncia sobre a distribuição de ativos virtuais em troca de propaganda política.
